TYPES OF ADMISSION

  1. FULL-TIME ADMISSION

    Full-time admission can be offered only to candidates who satisfy the Postgraduate school that they are not in employment or undertaking full-time studies elsewhere. Candidates found to have false declaration in this regard shall be asked to withdraw from the University

  2. PART-TIME ADMISSION

    Candidates may be admitted to part-time registration if they are staff of the University or can satisfy the Postgraduate School that facilities for their work as part-time students are adequate. Candidates applying to part-time registration may be asked to show evidence of release by their employers.

  3. ADMISSION AS OCCASIONAL STUDENTS

    Candidates who satisfy the minimum entry requirements for a higher degree programme and are recommended by the College/Faculty Postgraduate Committee may be admitted as occasional students, but shall be awarded a degree of Olabisi Onabanjo University. This type of admission is open to candidates registered for higher degree of other Universities recognised by Senate.

  4. STAFF CANDIDATE

    A full-time member of the academic staff or any person engaged in academic work within the University or associated institution may be admitted to proceed to a higher degree in accordance with the regulations, subject to the following modifications:

    • The member of staff must meet the normal requirements for eligibility to pursue a programme of Postgraduate studies in the area of his/her choice.

    • Notwithstanding other regulations relating to part-time study, the Senate on the recommendation of the board of Postgraduate Studies, may prescribe a minimum period of study and research not less than would be prescribed for full time study.

    • Where a person who has been a candidate under this regulation ceases to be a member of staff of the University, he shall apply to the Board of Postgraduate School to determine the condition of continuance of his candidature.
